Think of Vanlife as a life within your life. If you come back to where you started then you appreciate the roots you grew there, if you find a place you like more and don't want to leave then maybe you reached the end of the van journey and it is time to grow roots. Life is what you make it- the van life shows you how to live in the moment and not focus on possessions to justify your existence. Live happy and healthy.

Wow. Awesome! Caleb’s adventure van! I cried at the first clip of him looking out from his bed and being immersed in nature! Having worked with March of Dimes (Ont) assisting fellow University students before becoming a music therapist - this build blew me away! What a gift of freedom for this family. Caleb has access to the best life offers - visiting family & friends and being surrounded my music and nature!

God Bless these folks. The parents who have devoted their time tio care for their son. Not too many people will or can't take on such a challenge. Not because they don't love their child, but they wouldn't be able to handle it.. The f9olks who are building this special van for this young man. This gives me hope for mankind. There is so much ugliness going on around this world, I wonder if the saying is true. "The meek shall inherit the earth".

This is a nice looking build, but I have to ask. how much weight did it add to the van? It looks like you added a lot of weight. Does anybody build a nice looking lightweight van?

Wow, being a similar age to their son I was crying happy tears and did not expect such an emotional reaction. So happy he can now get out and experience the world, what amazing determined parents who never give up on their son.

You would think that with the beautiful life and the beautiful wife and child he had, that he would go all in to keep and protect his family. Instead, he does the opposite. Mind boggling.

Your hard work and compassion is truly inspiring. Thank you for helping Caleb and his family. Also, the way the mother and son looked at each other had me in tears 😭. Daily news is full of so many horrific stories of abuse of vulnerable people and animals, but seeing this is what restores my faith in humanity.

Just wanted to say I absolutely love and was blessed by what you’ve done here, you’re intentionality in doing it, and “who” you obviously are in taking on a mission of this magnitude and significance. While I used to engineer new furniture prototype frames in wood “back in the day”, my van build is relatively new to the scene and shows more about using what’s laying around to achieve something that’s a bridge to another world for like a 3-day weekend. You don't need someone to treat you like a queen. You need someone to treat you like an equal.

My ex cheated on me and attempted to ROB ME. He was from an uber Christian family and maintaining a perfect image was everything. Honesty on why our marriage ended was not forthcoming to say the least. Wild attempts at gaslighting, making up bizarre stories about me, lies, emotional abuse, more silly lies, he did it all. (PS I’m a psychologist and immediately saw through the BS and was like, “yeah, nah, yeah.”) In the end, he moved out, but refused to meet to separate and pick up his belongings from the house. He then attempted to rob me. Thankfully, I had already changed the locks and was running late to work on a Monday morning when a crew of six men with a massive semi-truck attempted to use the old key set to open my front door. When I answered the door, I was told that they were there to do a “complete move-out” of the entire house. They asked if my ex, the person who had scheduled and paid for their services, was there and can they come in and get started boxing? He’s a professional in his field who was making about six figures at the time. Both of our families lived in town and were very close. All of our friends and social contacts were deeply intertwined. He still expected me to come home from work later that day to find my house completely and entirely empty. As incomprehensible as it seams even now, I know why he did what he did. He had narcissistic traits, was deeply selfish, had a pattern of not taking responsibility for his actions, and would lie to simply get what he wanted. I saw a sliver of these issues in the years before we got married and made counseling a requirement of our engagement. (Ive had to do a lot of work forgiving myself for this). Still, none of this compared with the insane behavior he exhibited in the last months of our relationship. His parents set about trying to help him clean and cover up his behavior and I’ve been told that despite us spending 9 years together, my name is never mentioned and my existence is never acknowledged. I guess he’s exactly who he was raised to be. Today I am so relieved that he’s out of my life. My revenge is that I’ve never needed revenge! I only needed to let go of blaming myself for not recognizing things sooner, the vision I held for our unfulfilled future, the hurt caused to me. I needed to let go and embrace the beauty that was still in my life. I threw myself a “letting go of shit“ party, which featured a large poo emoji piñata I had made. My loved ones and I took turns saying what we wanted to let go of, beating the crap out of the poo piñata, and crying tears of gratitude that, for all the things we can’t control in life, we do get to control how we deal with our suffering and move forward.
